What is one key concept or tip that you learned this term that you plan on applying to your life in the future?

One key tip that I have learned this term is being able to ask for help, which I will apply to my life in the future. We all have different things going on outside of work and school and I find it important to know when to relay on and ask for help from other people.

Recommendations

  • Make an appointment with your Blueprint instructor or a Career Success Center staff member to go through your Career Readiness Report with you, identifying ways to strengthen your competencies as well as the language you might use in sharing your results with future employers.

  • Talk with your Blueprint instructor each term to learn how to leverage classroom activities in your personal and professional development. Don’t be afraid to share where you’re at in your professional journey and how your instructor can best support you.

  • Be a known quantity within the College of Business and develop your processional network (and college support team) each term. Seek connections with faculty members, advisors, or members of the Student Engagement team.

  • Engage in conversations (even one, to start!) on topics of disagreement with a friend, roommate, colleague or family member, actively practicing skills honed in OpenMind lessons.
